hello all, Ive got a question and I need some advice. So in order to stay employed (not get laid off) last week I was told I was going to build a deck at the owners new house. I wasnt real into the whole idea because personally I dont build decks for a living. I am a metal fabricator. But never the less I do it so I can work. the first day I get down there no body was at the house working yet so I get out of my car and head to get my tools out of the house. Now the owner of the company and house I was helping build lives 5 feet away in a garage/apartment on the same property. But when i get out of my car to head down a bunch of dogs start running to me barking. Being not told any of them bit I just stood there and planned on petting them. (I am a person who doesnt mind dogs). Well the one came behind me quickly and bites the back of my legs and I fall and yell at the dog. The dog runs away and still no owner in site. I just walked back to my car and waited for others to get there. I said something later but everyone kind of just blew it off. There were no marks due to the fact I was wearing jeans I guess. So later that week im being very cautious to go to near the house. The owner was out and I needed tools from the house so I went to go get them. Well as soon as I get to the front porch the dog runs to me and goes for the back of my legs again. The owner yells as Im getting bit. This time he bites both legs and my right legs he bites through my skin. It bleeds and hurts for the next couple days. The owner just blows it off says you fine and im just like I guess. It gets blown off again and the next day the owner leaves the dog out all day. He really doesnt care. So I didnt get the deck built the whole way and have to go back to the shop to work this week. Long story to short theres nothing for me to do so they make me sit all day and put these clips together. Today I had a talk with my supervisor and he says the job wasnt satisfactory and all this. I explain to him that I did the best I could with not being a deck builder. He also makes a coment that I didnt want to be there last week. I explain that I didnt want to be somewhere working where a dog is running around and is going to bite me again. At lunch he talks to me and gives me these bogus reasons that its not working out with the company and loose my job.
I talked to a local lawyer today and he said I might have something. He reccomended me to Briggs and Greenburg so ill call them tomarrow.
