    hurt while at work

Hello I was hurt at work on Jan18th of this year. I live in Mississippi and am a full time employee. I had surgery on my knee this past Tuesday. Workman's comp has been paying all of my med bills and hope they will start paying my lost wages sense I will be off of work for 4 weeks. My question is at the end of my medicinal when the doc lets me go will workman's comp offer me a settlement to close the case from any future claims or responsibility or will I need to hire an attorney? I will have problems with my knee for now on and will get worse over time. It will never be the same.

Yes, hire an attorney who deals specifically with workermans compensation in your state; as with anyone they will do their best to give you the least amount of money as possible. What was the situation with you getting hurt at work, was it negligence on the company's side?

If i dont hire an attorney will they just offer me money to close case. I kinda hate to hire an attorney becuase i still work for the company so i dont want to do anything to lose my job but on the other hand i also need to think ahead with the what ifs with the condition of my knee in the long run

Workers compensation law was created to provide benefits to worker employees that suffer work related injuries.
Accidents that occur going to and from your employer's place of business to a work site are generally covered. But going to and from your home to a work place are normally not covered by workers comp.

I found out today that as of yet they havent paid any of my med bills and they are close 2 10,000 now. Also found out that my knee will never be the same and will most likly be tender for now on. Is it time to get an attorney or just call them up and tell them i want to settle this and close this account and see what they offer and go from there. I looked up the workmans comp laws and what they normaly pay out. Its around 55,000 in my state. I kinda feel like they are just trying so do as little as possible. but again i am worried about my job if i cause 2 much fuss.

Legal proceedings and seeking first to a lawyer will definitely a good start point here.

You will have to see the company policies for this. Different companies have different policies. You may not need an attorney if the company has friendly policies.
