I am working on a paper and I need multiple examples of famous fictional detectives/police people who fail to follow typical crminal laws and procedures. Even if you can give me some examples of these types of characters who are bad at their job.

For example, the only one I can currently think of is Columbo, as he is a textbook example of using entrapment on many of his targets. Can someone help me please?
