I got hit by a Golf Ball
I was on a drive way leading to Groat Road North from Downtown Edmonton, traveling at about 55-60 km/h in my vehicle with windows open.
All of sudden, I felt the excruciating pain on my left elbow. I thought it was one of those rare/random shooting pain in my arm, so I pulled my vehicle over with the emergency light on.
The pain was felt on the lateral aspect of my left elbow. I was holding my arm to relieve the pain. I looked around to make sure I am safe on the road without disturbing the traffic.
Then, I found a golf ball rolling around inside my vehicle. The ball looked like the ball from the driving rage and had an inscription on it,

Just so you know, the driving range is not responsible by law for damages; the person who actually hit the golf ball would be responsible. This doesn't mean you can't attempt to file a PI civil suit against them, just judges tend to favor the golf courses in these cases.

In a civil suit, generally the plaintiff in these cases must prove the following in order to be awarded restitution, compensation or reparations for their losses:

Did you ever find the actual man responsible for hitting the ball? Everyone else is right. The golf course wouldn't really be at fault, but that means that you get the short end of the stick. Did the injury leave any lasting damage? If you decided to move forward with a lawsuit, you're probably realizing how long it can take to settle. If you find yourself struggling during this time, you might want to consider lawsuit funding. Orchard Legal Funding is a company that I know handles cases like yours.

I do not necessarilly agree with the other posters. If you were hit, likely other passing public parties were also damaged. Such shows that the perimeter net was was too low or there was no fence at all to protect the public from a course too close to a public road, the course design is defective, or management is lax. If you can establish a past pattern of public injury (similar occurences), you need not name an individual golfer. Rather, it is the golf course whom is at fault. Afterall, the golfer certainly did not intend to injure you. Indeed, the golfer was as much a victim of the course as you! The golf course is certainly the proximate cause and you need not trace any further.
