Defamation
Hi... I'm not sure if this is in the right section or not.. mods please move if it is not.
I just today found out that a person who I used to be on a sports team with has been posting some false statements about me in a moderators section of a website that we both belong to. Another moderator from this website called me and asked me if the information posted was true or not. I found out this person has been telling folks that I was escorted off of a military base by the military police and that I should have my status on the website we belong to revoked because of this. There is no truth to the matter at all which can be substantiated by the MP's on base, the event organizers at the base and numerous other people who were in attendance at the event. The statements made by this former friend and team mate have began to seriously cause damage to my reputation in the community. Can I sue this person and have them make a public apology and retraction of their statements?
Thank you for your help.
