Cable company mistake - Please help

Back in 2001? my cable company called me up and said i was abusing the internet by downloading to much, all though i had unlimited internet. to make a long story short they were supposed to disconnect my cable internet. After talking with the support people there they decided that they would not disconnect me if i cut my usage down - again they said it was unlimited but i had to watch how much i download each month - very confusing. Anyways, when i received the bill i was never charged for the internet - they just charged me a fee for renting the cable modem and it has been the same ever since. We still have the internet and recently been having connection issues and I want to call them up and get it fixed. (obviously start paying for it)

My question is can they legally go back all them years and make me pay for the internet even though it was their responsibility to disconnect me or charge me accordingly for their service.

I wonder if statute of limitations would apply to this?

You can have an attorney with UNLIMITED consultation and a lot more for only $17.00 a month in most states, and in Canada!

My girlfriend sells the service, so let me give you the link to check it out:

Thanks for reading, and I hope you can get some help!
