Wronged Prescription
A Doctor who made a wrong prescription may be held liable for medical malpractice. The improper prescription- would amount to improper medication, and thus a legally actionable wrong.
Even if the affliction is unintentional or accidental, the doctor involved should be held liable for medical malpractice.
A necessary case for personal injury may be had against the erring medical practitioner for any injuries sustained by reason of the wronged prescription.ASE

Errors involving prescription medications may occur at any stage in the drug administration chain: a manufacturer, a prescribing doctor, a nurse, or a pharmacist may commit negligent mistakes that lead to injury of patients. Understaffing in pharmacies and hospitals often create circumstances that lend themselves to the commission of errors. Prescription drug errors are in fact a cause of death for many.

Yes, The doctor who provided improper prescription would come under Medical Malpractice, because it leads to suffering of patient and sometimes causes to death. It is his responsibility to have a complete study of the patient's condition to prescribe him. One who failed in that would be liable to the law.
