I have a close friend who bought a 2003 Hummer H2 in December of 2007. The initial purchase of the vehicle carried with it a 1 year warranty and an additional 2 years unlimited mileage warranty was purchased from Nationwide that covers most power train damage to engine and transmission.
Since the vehicle was purchased it has needed several thousand dollars worth of repairs. What I would like to find out is if there is anyway to recover or return the vehicle to the used car dealership in which it was purchased. Because the vehicle has had so many problems in such a short amount of time after purchase I suspect that it was not properly inspected during the safety. Since the vehicle was purchased the following has had to be changed: 1) Battery 2) Alternator 3) All accessory and drive belts 4) Drive belt bearings and mechanisms (were rusted out) 5) Heat Shield and Front Part of Exhaust 6) Water Pump 7) A/C Compressor 8) Windshield (had 3 cracks straight from dealer) 9) Front and rear wipers All of the above items needed to be completely replaced since being purchased just 3 months ago. If anyone in here can help me get an answer to my friend I would appreciate it. Does he have any rights? With so many problems it is unlikely it should have passed safety inspection. |
