Question of past.
Hello all. I have a question that perhaps someone may be able to help me with.
I am finishing my second year as a Chemistry major in college. I went back to college later in life (I am 31) after having spent the majority of my twenties working in retail, then as a firefighter/paramedic.
As I continue, I am becoming increasingly interested in possibly applying for law school after college. There is a short "shelf-life" for many firefighters and paramedics due to the nature of the job, and as an analytical, "type-A" person, I am attracted to law; perhaps after I've been on the department for awhile.
Nevertheless, as I research some of the requirements for admission, for acceptance into the Bar, and by the state licensing agencies, I see that many places, (if not most) do character assessments to determine whether you will be accepted into law school, or even if you will be accepted into the Bar after having completed law school.
My question, then, is that when I was 21 (in 1999) I was younger and much more foolish and got convicted of a DUI. Will this impair my acceptance into law school or admission into the Bar? It's just my luck to go through all these tests and requirements only to find out at the last minute that this indiscretion from a decade ago will come back to haunt me.
Naturally, I ask this question in understanding that all else (grades, etc...) is equal.
Any feedback anyone has would be great.

Indiana. Not sure if I'll be moving any time soon, but it always remains a possibility since Indiana is circling the drain economically. I understand all states are skating, but Indiana got slammed.
