Rental Question
Hello!
So I live in a house of five people in Ontario, Canada. Only one of the roommates is on the lease and has taken it upon himself to evict roommates and generally just being a total ****. We've talked about getting on the lease but have been told that it means the lease would be renegotiated. I've lived here for about four years and am wondering what my legal rights are in case my situation goes south.
I appreciate any input.
Thanks!

The first thing...
you should do is SEE the lease. There should be a clause on there about whether or not sub-lettors are even allowed to be in the unit. If this is the case, you would be ok, but he would be screwed.
Then, depending on the landlord, he may want to renegotiate the lease terms including amount of rent or maybe he won't, but the idiot roommate would no longer be running the show.
