Thanks so much for reading my posting. I am looking to create different design (paining scheme) ideas for a new line of guitars that I am building.

One of the designs that I like (tiger stripe effect) is done by a large well known rock guitar company. I cannot figure how to find if they can trademark their tiger guitar design or not. I am not sure if you can even trademark something like that. If I change it at all is that good?

How would I find out what I can do paint scheme wise to obey any legal guidelines?
