Angry drug policies

I was terminated on 3/20/2008 after nearly 8 years at a job for a failed drug screen for marijuana. I offered to enter treatment/counseling/whatever but was denied...I was told they had a zero tolerance policy of which i have never seen nor read!!My immediate supervisor was taken from his office several weeks prior to my dismissal, to an emergency room by his family after overdosing on prescription pain killlers of which he was pimping me for(mine are legal)as well as obtaining these narcotics from several different doctors and mixing them AT WORK...hence his reaction and subsequent overdose..he ws told and i quote "we'll let ya have this one this time" and he is still employed there and calls me regularly trying to get me to give him painkillers! Am i missing something here or is this a double standard. NOt one time was I late, "high" at work, or using my drug of choice during working hours..I was also not tested any other time during my 8 years there....I am 54...my supervisor in his 30s...I feel my constant beratement of the management for picking and choosing who they enforced company policy on was the real reason for my dismissal as it was common knowledge at the job that I used Marijuana after work for my arthritis in my spine...a malady well known and documented by my employer...It is my wish to pursue litagation against this employer if at all possible ...i need to know if i can and should attempt to pursue this....financially i am in dire straights as a result of this and have ben resorting to selling off my possessions in an attempt to stay afloat...I was also denied remaining time owed to me for unproccessed work orders stating that they had 'estimated" what was owed to me...how is that possible...at $20.50 an hour that could amount to several hundred dollars i could sure use ...thank you for your time....
