I have an 11 year old son. He was born and has lived most of his life in Texas. His mom is in prison in Texas and my son was hidden from me since 2007 until January of this year. The mom and I did an AOP in Texas and I have been added to his birth certificate without the DNA test. The mom's half step cousin took my son to Louisiana but never got custody of my son. When she found out my ex and I had agreed for my child to live with me she went to work on getting custody of my son (This is AFTER Texas - who had jurisdiction gave me custody). She claimed she didn't knwo about the court but in fact did. The lawyers didn't notify her so we went BACK to Texas (we live in TN) and got her served and she didn't show up but her lawyer kept faxing stuff over to the judge and the state of Louisiana put my son in the State's custody as a child in need of services. I have been to Lousiana twice trying to get my order recognized and the birth certificate recognized. Louisiana forced me to do a DNA and it turns out he is not my biological son. The mom and I agreed that since I am the only father he has ever know and to me it doesn't make a difference, I love him the same; that we were going to leave the birth certificate as is BUT LA refuses to recognize me as dad even though I have the legal documents on file with the Court in LA. Come to find out the attorney we hired in LA ran against this Judge and it is possible he may be friends with the 2nd half cousin's atty. Does anyone know a LOUISIANA law concerning other states birth certificates??? Any info will be very appreciative.
