    Family Car Issued

Hello, I am a Texas resident who recently moved out of my parents house against their will. In frustration with my decision, they told me that they would report my car as "stolen" to the police if I did not return it immediately.

I have been making direct payments from my personal banking account on this car for a couple years now and I'm very close to paying it off (only a couple thousand dollars left). Unfortunately, I was too young at the time that the car was purchased to put it in my name. Therefore, the car is in their name.

I am an average student and I do well with my job. I am very responsible, at least enough to make it on my own. And I would be ok financially if I had a way back and forth from my job and I didn't have to worry about making a down payment on a new car.

Now I am stuck with no way to school or back and forth from my job. Therefore, I can make no money to purchase a new car.

Is there any legal issue here? Anyway for me to get my car back? I know it is a long shot as it is in their name, but I would really appreciate any advice I can get. Thank you in advance!

Sorry but I think for your safety since the car is on the name of your parent it better to give back to them or unless there are appealing you against your family to the court.

I don't think there's really a legal case here because the car is titled to your parents. If they report it as stolen, the police will side with them and you will be in trouble. If you think they're really going to report it, you should give it back. You might need to get a ride to school with a friend or something, if that's possible.

You should hand it back, but then you should fight it. Because quite honestly you can prove you have been making the payments from your bank account, so they either owe you the money back or they give you the car. Their call.

I would just give the car back and look for a used one.
Trying to find a seattle personal injury attorney lawyer to help me.
