Canadian DUI Charge
I was recently charged for DUI in Stratford Ontario. I am a recovering alcoholic and had a relapapse one evening at the end of my shift. I was pulled over 2 minutes from the restaurant where I worked. My court date is late Sept.
I don't have money for a lawyer or the $5000. that X copper wants to defend me. I am rather ignorant as to the court system and wish to learn a bit more before I have to appear. This is a first time offence.
Is it realistic to think I can represent myself or is that crazy? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Its not crazy to think that, however if you were to you would want to gather all the facts and definitely do your research.
On the otherhand there are attorneys who are good and only charge a nominal fee.
