Default divorce and custody

well im getting a divorce and my soon to be ex does not want me to leave the state with my son. has of right now he has modified visits and he is behind on child support. I live in texas and i want to move to virgina with my son where he will have his own room and better doctors for his health problems my question is there anything that i can do to make this happen and stop him from making me stay in texas. in the first court orders we have its says that i can choose where we live but now that i want to move he hired a lawyer to change them
any advice or help would be great

hi there, i came from a broken family..i feel for your child coz i know would not be easy for both him and you of course..just always secure him that even if his parents will be divorcing it does not mean that you love him less..and that mom and da will always be there still to guide him..

Cool

Is there some particular reason he can't leave the state? Is he on probation? If moving means tearing a child away from their father and there's circumstances where he's not allowed to leave the state, then my suggestion would be try to find a area you like in your home state. You'll be doing the right thing, plus you won't need to hire an attorney to fight off one angry papa, but maybe that's something you can afford to do. Your at a tipping point right now, things can either escalate, or things can cool off, settle down, and relax. The choice is yours.
