Okay, bear with me on this.
Here's the situation. My wife found my 15 yr old daughter's boyfriend hiding in her closet at 4 a.m. She kicked him out and called me at work to tell me. I was finishing up a 16 hr shift. My daughter apparently ran away shortly after cause when i got home she was gone. We didn't realize till around 11 cause her door was closed. I told my wife to go to work and I'll find her. I drove all over town and called all her friends caused my wife had taken her phone away. Finally, one of her Friends father made her give me my daughters boyfriends address. i was already calling his phone all day and kept getting the voice mail. I got to his house and started ringing the bell and knockin on the door. No answer so I banged harder. I heard movement inside and got pissed. I went inside thru an unlocked patio door and found him on his phone. I asked him where my daughter was and he played dumb so i grabbed him and pushed him against the wall and said I will BEAT HIS *** if he didn't tell me. He started crying saying she came by earlier and said she was leaving town. I didn't believe him so I checked the entire house but didn't find her. I then left and reported her to the police as a runaway. He of course called the police on me so i was arrested for criminal trespass and 3 counts of battery to a minor even though he's 17. All charges are misdemeanors. Detectives coincidentally found her in front of his house while i was being booked. They were apparently planning to runaway to Colorado together(dont ask me why) and we live in the midwest. Im an Army Reservist and work federal security and I'm applying for a federal law enforcement job. i use to be a CO and I have a clean record. Basically, I feared she would have gotten hurt or hurt herself if I didn't find her quickly. So to all professionals out there, U think I acted out of necessity or not THX for the patience.

Just a side note, I didn't report her to the police right away cause she's in ROTC and wants (or wanted) to go to college and a possible career in the Air Force. I didn't want her to have any type of record. She's currently in the hospital undergoing evaluation and testing which is what i was trying to avoid. Thx
