    Expungement of a dropped charge

Hello. About two years ago I was arrested on a drunk and disorderly charge (a misdemeanor I believe) in the state of Louisiana (Orleans Parish). All charges were dropped. I know that I can get the record expunged, but it costs hundreds of dollars (the Louisiana State Police require about $400 worth of money orders to do this expungement), so I am wondering if it is even necessary to expunge a dropped charge. What are the benefits of expungement in a situation like this? Will this come back to haunt me if I don't get it expunged? Thanks!

Expungment is available for those who have never been tried or has opted for arbitration, should drop the charges or the charges were dropped dismissed.Once there is no record of conviction is not expunge. If were charged to a crime and found not guilty or charges were dropped, you can request that your records will be destroyed.
