    Fist fight turns to Battery

    State of Florida:
I was involved in a fist fight at a local supermarket about 2 weeks ago. The other guy accused me of looking at his wife; when I told him no he said I was lying and one thing lead to the other and we started fighting. I was taken into custody when he told police that I started the fight.

Now I'm facing a simple misdemeanor battery charge. What kind of sentence will I face for a charge like this for someone with a prior conviction on their record?

I think the opposition has no case at all and i believe it can be settled if you set an appointment along with your lawyers. Staring at someone cannot be considered an emergency situation in case they want to turn the case into a self-defense attempt.

It's always hard to prove whether you've stared or not. And people stare for many reasons. Maybe you thought his wife looked like an old friend, etc. I agree with Emily, talk to the couple and see if you can settle this out of court.
