Criminal Law Question - Verbal Threats
Does anyone know the laws or have first-hand experience with the issue of verbal threats here in Colombia?
For example, is it generally illegal to verbally (face-to-face) threaten someone's life?
In this instance, "someone" is just a random Joe on the street . . . laws may be very different insofar as threatening elected & government officials, diplomats, etc.
Otherwise, does a face-to-face threat against a random person's life constitute a criminal cause of action that is likely to be pursued by any police officer or prosecuting authority?
What about indirect threats . . . such as threatening a person's family member(s)?
Before making assumptions, in many jurisdictions it is generally not illegal to issue a verbal, face-to-face threat.
Thanks!

I do not think why would someone want to verbally threat an official anyways. Laws in different countries are different as far as i know, it is better if you did it while nobody(eyewitness) was there.
