    Banned from Canada

A friend of mine is a swedish citizen. On a trip to whistler he hurt his knee and ambulance was called to pick him up by the skipatrol. He didn't have his insurance at the moment and when he asked to the nurse in the ambulance how much it would cost him to ride with the ambulance. The nurse answered 80 CAD. Now he has got a bill sent to his adress in sweden reminding him to pay 700 dollar he owes. He feel he has been fooled and don't know what to do. He don't feel he has to pay the invoice. So now he is wondering about the consequences of not paying the bill.
    Kindly regards.

It would be best to inquire someone with a better knowledge of hospital rules and regulations, as well as fee charges.

This post should be moved to consumer forum than here in the Criminal forum. Anyways, there is nothing to be worried about as it can be a clerical mistake too. I would advice you to get in contact with the hospital itself first and explain it to them. If that does not work out, then a petition in the consumer court can be filed.
