Okay so this story may be a little drawn out and i apologize for that ahead of time im pretty new to this. But there was this individual that was harrassing my girlfriend and eventually myself through phone calls, text messages, and pursuing/stalking her at school. This eventually lead to a confrontation at school and a physical altercation outside his place of work, not to mention his brother getting involved implying threats at my place of residence towards me and my girlfriend. anyways after the altercation took place he filed a police report and i eventually went to civil court and had a 1 year injunction placed against me. At this time they had only applied for a warrant but later, without my knowledge, the warrant had become active apprx. 2 months after my court hearing. Then, 3 months later they pulled me over for a broken tail light and arrested my on an out of county warrant for burgurlary/ assault. i was processed and bailed out and now waiting for a plea date in feb. However, the individual is out of the country right now so im pressing the issue of a speedy trial so that i can have the best chance of gettin this dismissed. does anyone have any advice on this topic or how i could expedite this process any further? what are my odds of this getting thrown out? any comments or advice is welcome and appreciated.
