Red face Criminal Record Check for Volunteer

Hello, I recently did a consent for disclosure of criminal record information so I can volunteer in my childs classroom. It came back as may or may not exist and that police information regarding me may exist on the Police Information Retrieval System. The letter that came back from the school district (BC Canada) says until I have conveyed the RCMP information to them and reviewed it that I cannot volunteer.
I am a good person and have a few questions:
Almost 2 years ago now I was shopping at a grocery store and forgot 2 items on the top of my stroller. It was an honest mistake which I know seems hard to believe but really it was. I signed a paper saying what it was ($14 worth) and was banned for 6 months. No police came and I was let go. I have since never been back to that store.
My question is would this be whats coming up on the PIRS? If I go down to the station to inquire about it would I be opening up a can of worms? or has it been too long for them to take any action? Also I was able to get my passport recently with no problems and a criminal record would show for that right? We are going as a family on holidays in the states at the end of this month and would hate to ruin it all by bringing up this simple regrettable mistake I make 2 years ago.

Im very conserned as to what to do? I would love to volunteer but how would this information have come up? Ive never done fingerprinting or photos at the RCMP either.

Thanks for any and all information you are able to give me

I think the first thing you must to do before you going to that station is study the case and give an evidence to the police so that they convince them that you are telling the truth.

There is a possibilities that it was not filed as a crime for as what you had said when it happened there were no police involved, well the best thing to do now is to go to the Police Information Retrieval System to make sure about it

    Hello !!

You seems to be very innocent person and i suggest you to have a proper case study from the recognized lawyer and then go through any further proceedings.

    Thanks

Bottom line is stay the fk out of trouble now, and don't give up. Keep your record clean and in 6 months talk to an attorney and try and have something happen with record.

    Get a lawyer's help

The only person that can give you the right advice is a lawyer. It will straighten things out.
