Legalizing Marijuana in Georgia and the U.S.
Hi, I'm new here so I might as well start with a really big question.

Every day the Mexican drug cartels murder innocent people to protect their marijuana incomes from the U.S. Many of their victims are children, police officers and politicians.
I can't sit by and do nothing while so many innocent people are being murdered, beheaded and tortured! According to the ONDCP two-thirds of the cartel's incomes come from selling marijuana in the U.S. To stop these murders we have to eliminate this income!
Legalizing the commercial production and sale of marijuana to adults will enable us to undercut cartel prices, eliminate their marijuana incomes and save the lives of thousands of innocent people.
My question is: what effective means are available to put pressure on my state government here in Georgia and the federal government to end the marijuana prohibition and legalize its commercial production and sale to adults?
Thank you all very much for any insight you can give!

It is bad if the marijuana is legal in adults and teens because this drugs is very harmful that make poison their mind in doing illegal cases. Most people taking drugs are the case of sexual harassment and act of lasciviousness.

In Amsterdam they had legalize marijuana well legalizing it had decreased the rate of crime, I think it would be much better if it would be legalized as long as there are some policies for using it

I hope it never gets legalized if one state allows it for any reason then other states would try to as well and this would cause kaos.I dispise drugs for any reason and I think this is not your battle to fight if people are getting killed over this theres not alot you by yourself u can do.

Mexican drug cartels don't just smuggle marijuana into the us, they also bring in the heroin/cocaine and meth. Legalizing pot isn't going to stop the war going on across the border. There's already so many lawsuits happening over medical maijuana users (you can't smoke pot at work/school no matter what your illness is) it has little chance in our life time ever becoming legal. And if it did...half the population would be out of work because of across the board drug policies of employers.

Ok. For starters I want to state that up until last year, I was marijuana's biggest enemy. This is because I did not gather my own information and make my own decisions. However, after being in a serious accident and experiencing it's benefits for myself, I have become it's biggest advocate. Used correctly, marijuana can benefit countless people who suffer from a variety of ailments. I see a lot of misinformation and outright ignorance being expressed on this board. Studies have shown that marijuana exhibits no negative effects on the body or brain of a developed adult. It does not cause cancer, kill brain cells, or do any of the other BS that we were told about as children in school. Ending marijuana prohibition would have the same effects as the abolishment of alcohol prohibition. Crime bosses such as Al Capone came to power because of alcohol prohibition. When the alcohol ban was lifted, people did not have to go to the Black Market to get their beer and liquor any more. Brewers and distillers had a legitimate, taxpaying business overnight and flourished. And alcohol is exponentially more dangerous than marijuana. Moving on, teens polled across the country have said that it is easier for them to buy illegal drugs than it is to buy alcohol or tobacco. This is because alcohol and tobacco are LEGAL and have AGE RESTRICTIONS placed on them in order to protect our children. Also, don't you think it's a little funny that most drug growers and dealers DO NOT want to see marijuana legalized. This is because they know that they're illegal means of income will be taken away and they'll have to get a real job. All of you who oppose legalization, please open your minds and do some research before you jump to conclusions about something that you know nothing about.

Weed dosen't poison
Ok i'm not going to be mean but where did you get this bull from your own studies. there are no know studies of weed killing look at some of the famous rappers that been smoking ever since the 1990s Juicy J, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and more. are they dead... no they seem to be doing fine for smoking this so called "poison mind controlling drug". I belive if it does do anything it mite do it the first time you try it but that's why you start with the lite weed not the real heavy stuff. one more thing plus weed helps cancer patients going threw Chemotherapy it helps cadaracs, migrants arthritis and more medical problems and in theory if we tax weed we can probably get out of this recession. if you still belive this will kill people then do me a favor and keep a close eye on the rappers im about to tell you. Juicy J, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Dr. dre, i know there some more but i listen to these people the most and they smoke weed pretty frequently

Legalizing pot isn't going to make the cartels go away. It may even accelerate the violence in the country. Remember that we having lots of american's working with cartels in the sell of pot and getting a part of that $. Then you have the meth, cocaine and heroin. What's next, we legalize them? Our up and coming young americans...for the most part are becoming over weight, lazy and self intitled. Many can't even pass a drug test for getting there first job.
