    Missing FIRST meeting with Probation

    I am in California

    Hello
A federal judge just sentenced me to 3 years probation (thank GOD) and no jail time. I have never been to jail and have serious medical conditions. So that was great news. I am to meet with my US Probation Officer next week (the 22nd I believe). My concern is I am not sure if I wrote down the correct date and she is on vacation. What happens if I miss the first date based on an honest mistake?
I will go in on the 22nd and see what happens. But what if that's the wrong date and the correct date passed?
I was on pre-trial waiting sentencing for over 4 years and was perfect with pretrial-never missed a call or a date! But this PO does not know me yet and its the first appointment. I even sent my lawyer the date via email to prove that I believe that is the correct date for the first meeting.
    Thank you for any help

You should not EVER miss a probation date unless you've ok'd it with your PO. Call the Probation office and confirm your date.
I'm not a Lawyer but we help you find the best ones!

this is the worst think you can do. you will go back to jail in a minute. Probation officers do not play.

I was convicted of DUI in December 2008, and as part of my sentence received 12 months probation. After completing some community service today, I realized that I wrote down the meeting date wrong. I wrote down that the meeting was NEXT Tuesday instead of this PAST Tuesday.

I called the probation office, but there was no answering machine. I called the Sheriff's Department, but they could not tell me anything. I plan on calling the PO first thing tomorrow morning and apologizing, but I'll be honest... I'm new to this scene and I'm kind of freaking out. I'm a college student and really don't want to go back to jail.

I know I probably must sound like a wuss to a bunch of you, but that's ok. I'm just looking for answers/advice.

    Thanks in advance!
