I have no clue on how to proceed with getting services turned back on.. I am writing this for a friend who is single, been out of work for a couple years.. due to health.. she has four children and both her gas and electric services have been shut off... her electric service, she never got a bill ever, in 21 months of living in home, and they say it is unauthorized usage... shut off services.... wont turn them on until someone claims responsibily for the usage,, she is not denying she used the services but never got a single bill,,,, what should be done about this...?
Now the gas services were shut off a couple days later, with a 3,000 dollar balance, she does not have this kind of money, they added a bill that supposedly belonged to me, from when we were an item, and owned a home elsewhere, i never had services in my name at this address or anywhere for that matter.. the gas bill was in her name and when we moved, we transfered service with a zero balance to new location..... how can they legally add a bill supposedly in my name to her gas bill, we were never married...... now they wont take off that balance, if they did, the DHS in the area would help her with the rest to get services turned back on....... please help
