A car insurance policy cannot prevent automobile accidents from happening, but it sure can help offset some of the financial loss or burden that might result from an accident. Another question to ask is: How much can I afford? Although the more protection the better, budget should also be a factor to consider. Be sure to be knowledgeable before purchasing in order to make an informed decision...
Whether you are a new driver or you have been driving for years, there are some insurance coverage recommendations that you should consider when you sign up or renew your policy...
now the main concern is "What type of coverage do I need?".. it all depends..but most important to know are:
Liability Coverage
Liability policies are required by most state's laws for all registered autos; however, the minimum required liability limits depend on your State's laws. For example, California requires that your liability policy includes a minimum of $15,000 of bodily injury coverage per person, $30,000 bodily injury coverage as a total per accident, and $5,000 of property damage coverage.
Keep in mind that the minimum requirements may satisfy state laws, but may not be suitable for your needs. You must be aware that any injury or property damage as a result of an accident in excess of your liability limits may not be covered and may leave you responsible. Raising liability limits can help you protect your assets against lawsuits.
Medical Payments Coverage
Medical payments portion of a car insurance policy is designed to pay some of the medical costs that may result from an accident such as medical bills and/or funeral expenses up to the policy limit.
Comprehensive and Collision Coverage
If you want coverage to your vehicles in case of theft, fire, vandalism, collision with animals, windstorms, flying objects, hail, broken windows, and at fault auto accidents, then you want Comprehensive and Collision Coverage.
If you are financing your vehicle, your finance company may require Comprehensive and Collision Coverage.
Rental Car Coverage
Most insurers offer rental car reimbursement. Some companies offer rental reimbursement for as little as $2 per month. There are limitations as to how much money per day they will reimburse and how many consecutive days. This is fairly inexpensive, feel free to quote it before you opt one..

Auto insurance coverage is packaged into different coverage types. It is usually easiest to determine what you are required to purchase. Then, you determine what you have that needs to be protected.Obtaining free quotes on insurance policies is a better choice always, and before you get a discount private health insurance, and think carefully on the benefits.
