Student Loan Help Hello,
My question is a little complicated, but here goes...
I had Student loans they went delinquent.... I came to an agreement without re-working the loans...PHEAA at the time combined them and was using one reference number. They provided me a letter saying just how much I owed.....In 2006 I finished paying the loan, I received a Payoff letter from The Assistant Vice President of Default Collections in July of 2006 saying.
"Upon receipt of your most recent payment, you account was considered Satisfied. Thank you for meeting your contractual obligation to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."
In around October 2007 I receive a letter from the Department of Education saying I owe the entire amount again (some 11,000.00). I sent them the payoff letter, but they say there is a mistake and I still owe all this money, and they want to garnish my wages, and have already held last years income tax return. An now they want penalties and interest for the time I stopped paying 2006.
Is there anything I can do? I have a payoff letter, I believe PHEAA or AES which is now known by made the mistake...This loan is Paid.

if you have the payoff letter and the payment you should be ok. you should hire an attorney to clear this up.

Hello,
Now this is really a complicated story.. You had the payoff letter and the other party is saying that you still owe the dues. But in this case what I would suggest you that if you are right and have all the proof of the payment of the dues then just contact a good lawyer who is expert in handling this kind of issues...
Hope everything turn out well.. and All the best..!!

I have read out your post. I have knowledge about "Huntsville-attorneys" which provides Segal and Segal offer the defense representation and legal counsel where we actually care about the outcome of their cases and care about the people accused. I think you go there and take exact solution of your problem.

Ok, here's how it works. You fill out a FASFA form and on it you tell the gov which school to send your info too. Then the school will tell you what you qualify for (hopefully you will get a PELL grant too don't have to pay those back). You go in to the Fin Aide office and sign some papers. Then the money gets sent to the school. They pay your school fees. Then, if there is any left over, they cut you a check.
