If someone is harassing and driving customers away from an online business can they be sued?

You owuld have to have steady proof. For example - if they were posting false ads or blurbs on craiglists, print those out.
Keep everything...
Also, you woul dhave to make sure what they are saying isn't indeed true.
For example: If they bought an item and it was something different, yet no refund was provided.
Something along those lines.

Can you please shed a little more light on how exactly is someone capable of doing that to an online business ?
I mean i have heard about techniques to promote online businesses but never heard about negative marketing online.
