    Ousourcing work website

    Hello,
i'm about to open a website.
It's gonna be media related: the idea is, i have some competence in some media related fields, but not in some others.
I would have people with different competences, in a personal database divided by category (writers, translators etc)

When a client contacts me with a job i cant do for lack of time or lack of expertise, i would pass on the job to one of the people in the database. People would be working on my behalf, or anyway, under the website's name.
The client would deal directly with me: im gonna be a middle-man between client and freelancer. the idea is I would still retain a small percentage of the job.

    Is this legal?
Do i have to clearly state to the freelancer that i am keepin a percentage or not?
I am in Italy but the site would be a .com, im guessing this means it abides by US laws?

    thanks for your help.

No, it's not illegal, it's called subcontracting. Without subcontracting, we'd all be walking around in sheep skins and living in caves.

I agree with thundercow here. I know a lot of people who also do the same thing as you... well, you may or not tell your freelancer that you also earn a little commission it's up to you. But it's not illegal.

Yah of course, but as I am observing the same thing, as playing a role of subcontractor I don't think so a large earning part of the job. How much you do get? Is it sufficient? What do you do? and Do you have more experience.
I wanna know about the things necessary for me of course.

    Allvira,

Yes that's a good idea. Subcontracting is a great deal and you can help a lot of people and share knowledge on your online team.
