hiring a lawyer to work for our company
Hello Everyone,
I own a small loan modification business that is currently compliant threw the department of real estate. I am looking to change over to a lawyer backed company to add more value for my clients.
I have lawyers lined up and interest but I am not sure how to appropaitely hire them and needed some help.
Can the lawyer be 1099 with my company?
Do they have to have owner ship in the company?
Do they have to be onsite?
Can they work for a different company at the same time?
thank you

they do not have to have ownership, and they do not have to work on-site. Lawyers can also represent multiple parties at the same time. And yes, 1099'ing a lawyer is the most common method of payment....
