Should I hire an Attorney or File myself (Pro Se)?
i met with an attorney for the first time today and she said it was $3000 to file a chapter 13 with $850 upfornt and it was $2250 to file for chapter 7. Can anyone tell me if this seems reasonable. My case is pretty simple i think. Is it worth trying to do it yourself? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I generally think you are better off hiring a professional. After all they do it every day and know the inns and outs. You get what you pay for as they say..

If you want to do it by yourself, be sure to at least have a qualified attorney review all your files and be sure to have any questions answered.

Yeah knowing where to start when it comes to bankruptcy is difficult. I have a friend who was able to find really great legal help at a price that was very affordable. She told me that what she found allowed her to talk to the lawyer over the phone without be charged hourly...and the advise they gave helped her, especially with her tougher decisions. I could send you the information if you like.

I wouldn't do oral surgery on my self to save a few bucks. That doesn't mean I wouldn't call around for pricing. You'll be very surprised at the range of fees and payment plans different law firms charge.
Kind regards,

She advised me that what she observed permitted her to speak on the lawyer more than the cellphone without having be charged hourly...along with the advise they gave aided her, specifically along with her harder choices.
