I had a car accident where I was rear ended at a red light. Obviously the other person's fault. No police report were filed because I know the person who hit me. I got a whiplash injury and followed a treatment worth about $4000. The car damages were $1000. The insurance claims that it is only a minor impact so they do not expect to reimburse anything for my medical bills (they already paid for the $1000 of the car damages). Even after the treatment I have permanent damage on my neck (soft tissues).
- Should I hire a lawyer? Will any lawyer refuse to work with me because the impact was to small?
- Will my claims be not valid because I do not have a police report?
- Simple question: how do I file a claim (where is the paperwork?!). What paperwork from each doctor should I send to the insurance?
- Should I have my car insurance helping me with the medical bills claim?
- The doctors are already asking me to pay the bills (beside the copayment). Do I have the right to refuse until the car insurance reimburse me?
Thank you.
