There are chances that you will get reimbursed up to a certain amount not complete...but you can claim for the total loss expecting that there may be a 10% cut in it.

First and foremost i'm glad that your son was not seriously injured. Secondly i think very highly of you for taking this situation and teaching your child that when an "accident" happends that its not ok to be all sue happy. We need more people liek you and less "get rich quick" people in this world.

Like others have mentioned wait and see what the insurance company offers you, if your son works and lost a week + of pay he might be able to get that too.
